IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) is offered for riders in grades 4 -12 that are 9 or older. Grades 4-8 compete on the Middle School Team while Grades 9-12 compete on the Upper Level Team. 

IEA creates an atmosphere of unity, where members strengthen friendships, challenge their abilities, and become more experienced and confident equestrians. 

Horses and tack are provided for team competitions. 

Classes are offered in a variety of levels in order to accommodate a wide range of riders from beginner - open. Your coach will place you in an appropriate level for showing based on your experience. 

Points are tracked during the Regular Season for individual rider as well as the team. Both individuals and teams earn points to qualify for Regional, Zone and National Finals.

The competition season starts August 1st and ends at the National Finals in late spring / early summer, but each Zone/Region sets their own schedule with most of our Regular Season shows occurring September-December 

Students ride horses that are provided by the hosting team/co hosts and chosen by random draw. All tack for horses are provided as well as any aids suggested for the horse. 

Learning based experiences will be offered both in and out of the saddle along with team building events. 

Weekly team practices to be held during Season at Dewalt Stables.

You do not need to be a regular lesson student of Dewalt Stables to be a part of our IEA team. Riders from all barns and local areas interested are encouraged to join!
